The Richard Merkin Visiting Fellowship in Focused Ultrasound is open to any mid-career or senior scientist or clinician from industry or academia around the world to work with the technical and scientific team at the Focused Ultrasound Foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia for a period of approximately 12 months. The position fosters collaboration between the Foundation, the Fellow's home institution, and other institutions. The Fellow has opportunities to conduct original research in focused ultrasound and participate in ongoing focused ultrasound research projects with investigators at the University of Virginia and other institutions. The Fellow is expected to conduct publishable technical and pre-clinical projects and deliver one to two research lectures. The Fellow will benefit from the Foundation’s wide expertise in focused ultrasound, and will have the opportunity to seek out and work closely with other investigators and clinicians throughout the Foundation’s network of research sites to stimulate the development of new translational and clinical research projects. To apply, please contact Matt Eames, Director of Extramural Research.

2014 Summer Interns 2 sm

Launched in June 2012, this program enables bright and gifted students to work on a variety of research projects in collaboration with the Foundation’s scientific and medical team. These internships are designed to foster interest among the next generation of researchers in the development of focused ultrasound as a clinical tool. They also address real-world challenges, the conquering of which could expedite the adoption of the technology. Intern projects represent valuable contributions to the field of focused ultrasound. The Foundation employs interns year-round, with a greater number of available positions during the summer months. Beginning in 2014, the program was generously funded by and named in honor of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation. In addition, Virginia Bio sponsors one intern each year. To apply, please send your resume along with a cover letter to .
